We correct errors, visibly
If something here is wrong, we want to know and we will fix it. We do not quietly delete pages or edit them without acknowledgement.
How corrections work
- Factual errors are corrected as soon as they are verified, and a correction note is added at the foot of the guide stating what changed and when.
- Calculator errors are treated as urgent. The tool is fixed first, then a note is added to the page.
- Typos and clarity edits are made without a note, since they do not change meaning.
- Regulatory changes update the guide and its last-updated date, with the previous position noted where it helps readers understand what changed.
Reporting an error
Send the page URL and a description of the problem through the contact page. If you can point to a source, it speeds things up considerably. We aim to respond within three working days.
Retractions
If a guide turns out to be substantially wrong, we retract it rather than patching it. The URL stays live with a clear retraction notice, so anyone who linked to it or acted on it can see what happened.
