Fact Checking Policy

How claims, figures and formulas on TZAP Blog are verified before publication.

What gets checked

  • Formulas. Verified against at least two independent worked examples, and cross-checked against the calculator that implements them.
  • Statutory rates and thresholds. Verified against primary government sources, with the date of verification recorded.
  • Benchmarks and ranges. Published as ranges rather than false precision, with the basis stated.
  • Platform behaviour. Checked against official documentation, and re-checked when a platform announces a change.

How we handle uncertainty

Where a rule is genuinely ambiguous or interpretation varies, we say so rather than picking a side and presenting it as settled. Where a figure is an estimate, we label it as one.

Sources we rely on

Primary legislation and government notifications, official platform documentation, and our own measured data from client work. We avoid citing content aggregators and other blogs as authorities.

Dates

Every guide shows both a published date and a last-updated date. For regulatory content, the updated date reflects a genuine review, not a cosmetic edit.
